It's Friday! How's your week been? I've been taking some much-needed time in prayer and meditation this week. I'm craving silence lately—pure, undisturbed, peaceful hum of absolute nothingness. Spending time outside, even in the cold, on long hikes is helping me a ton. The most beautiful regional park near me has endless hiking and horse trails. It's my favorite part of where I live, and that list is very short. Just being alone in the woods—me, the fresh, crisp air, pine trees, a squirrel or two, and the occasional deer. It's so peaceful.
Today's Friday faves has a little of everything. Even while trying to limit my YouTube consumption, I share a few channels I’m loving. Plus, the podcasts and music that are bringing me joy right now.
Here’s the recipe of the week incase you missed it.
Crispy cabbage and onion tempura, seasoned with a zesty, garlic, fennel spice mix.
Happy Tuesday! I know I’m bringing you Monday’s newsletter a day late. My brain hasn’t been in creative cooking mode lately; I’ve had to deal with a lot of little distractions this week. I’m trying to reset, and get into a better routine to stay on top of my goals. I’m giving myself grace right now with my mental health.
Youtube Channels I’m watching.
Roots & Refuge Farm - a tried and true favorite channel. Homesteading, cooking, gardening in South Carolina. Jess gives me so much encouragement for my homesteading dreams.
Carrie Rad - Homesteading in New Zealand. The most gorgeous place I’ve ever seen. Adding to my list of places I want to visit.
Laura Caldwell - All the thrifting videos. Makes me want to scope out the entire state for vintage finds.
Podcast’s I’m loving.
I’m obsessed with this UK podcast, Dish with Nick Grimshaw Michelin star chef Angela Hartnett. Think dinner party meets podcasting. I love this idea for a podcast; it’s so brilliant. Just a table full of people eating, laughing, talking about food, and having a good time. It’s also fun to watch on IG and YouTube.
Music I’ve been listening to this week.
There are aspects of so many music genres I love. Pop, soul, jazz, country and everything in-between. At the moment I’m loving any music that is uplifting and peaceful. What music do you listen to? Anything you’re loving right now? Share below, I’d love to hear it!
I will leave you with a photo that is bringing me so much joy!
and hope that the gardening season will come back again.
She always closes her eyes and smiles!
More posts you might enjoy!
That’s it for Friday faves. Not much is planned for this weekend, maybe I’ll try out a winter farmers market tomorrow and of course more recipe testing for next week. I’ve been in a bit of an energy lull this week so hopefully next week I can feel a little more like myself. Have a fantastic weekend! Do something that sparks joy and share it with others! See ya Monday.
